Silversun Pickups announce new album: Neck of the Woods

Silversun Pickups will return on May 8th with their third LP, the follow-up to 2009′s Swoon. Entitled Neck of the Woods, the album was produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, R.E.M.) at his home studio in Topanga Canyon, Caliofornia.

Speaking with SPIN.com, Pickups frontman Brian Aubert said he began writing the album’s songs during a European vacation. He described the sound as ”like a horror movie,” adding “Swoon was more about what I was feeling at that particular time… whereas with this one, I wanted to see what built me. It was learning why I am the way I am.”

In support of the release, Silversun Pickups have already confirmed appearances at Sasquatch! and Toronto’s Edgefest. Stay tuned for additional album details and tour dates.
